—»Today your internet community might know more about you than your closest family. I am often more intimate when sharing feelings with my closest friend than with my closest family member. In western society today the family is no longer the smallest unit—the individual is.«
Among thoughts like these, Noomi Jacksson found her starting point. Jacksson has noticed that the interest for your roots and family history is something that comes way too late in life. By talking to many of her older family members, she has learnt a lot about herself and also strengthened the bond to them.
»I used to carry a picture of my boyfriend in the wallet and it happens that people carry a picture of someone close in a locket.«
One of the pieces Jacksson has been finishing is a structure of lockets that allow you to wear your whole genealogical tree around your neck.
